SAMU EA Tool Main features
Powerful out-of-the-box Best Practice Framework, adoptable and adaptable to unique customer needs
SAMU comes with our best practice framework, based on 20+ years of EA experience. This allows you to start your EA journey immediately allowing for quick wins that demonstrate its value to your organization. We understand that your needs are unique, therefore we have developed SAMU by having flexibility as a primary attribute in mind. Feel free to change the meta-model, reports or any other settings simply and easily over the web-GUI.
It is also quite a common practice for our customers to incorporate concepts and ideas into their SAMU instance from Enterprise Architecture Standards such as TOGAF, or ArchiMate.
Wide variety of integration options for maintaining a live and accurate EA repository
Information in SAMU is diverse: from business architecture components, to applications, information entities, organizational structure, technology elements, and their inter-dependencies. Much of this information can come from other tools, such as CMDB, Project portfolio, operational management and monitoring tools, existing inventories, or even Excel. SAMU can continuously exchange data with all of these sources, using our Synch module, providing the most up-to-date architecture landscape. The Sync Module has many built in integration connectors, such as JDBC, LDAP, REST, SOAP, CSV.
SAMU also comes with a built-in RestAPI and SOAP Adapter, which is fully capable of performing CRUD operations on Repository items, furthermore allowing users to collect complex insights defined in the systems, or creating ad-hoc queries can also be easily performed.

SAMU Workflow: Developed for the management and maintenance of enterprise architecture data
Data maintenance should not be performed randomly and in an ad hoc manner, just when someone remembers to do it, but instead when certain events or processes trigger tasks to be performed by SAMU users. The individual SAMU tasks can be organized into workflow processes, logging the history of the transactions (who requested what and when, who approved what, etc.) and ensuring that the individual user tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Powerful EA Visualizations Intuitive, easy to use
Architecture cannot get more visual than this! SAMU lets you see the invisible dependencies that are potential threats to transformation initiatives. What’s more, modelling is a fun-filled drag-and-drop exercise – and you will be surprised at how quickly you will be able to get the information that you need to make the right decisions. And all of the features are available in a modern, user friendly web application.
Visualizations are data-driven and show the highly complex architecture in a graph like manner where content is easily filtered, and where symbols, labels and colors can also be used to reflect the data.

Live and shared knowledge base, Source of Truth for EAM
SAMU is a data-driven EA tool that focuses on the integrity and inter-dependency of the architecture components in a central structure repository. Information stored in SAMU can be a valuable resource to many people in your organization, and often necessary for their daily activities – so why not expand access to get more stakeholders involved? The more SAMU is used, the better the quality of the data will become. When information is shared, projects can build on a common understanding, which should result in faster and better decision making.
Additionally, you will be able to identify and mitigate risks sooner, reduce costs, better manage resources and eventually create a more agile and efficient enterprise.
The sophisticated permission control, with Rule based dynamic data access roles, makes the central database secure and usable in an Enterprise environment.
Unlimited reporting capabilities
SAMU comes with many built-in Reports available out-of-the-box.
In SAMU, you are able to drill-down on any object or relationship (if allowed for that object type) to see the context diagram of that object. This can be further customized and special drill down reports can be easily created.
Also, Multiple Dashboards are available out–of0the–box in SAMU and additional customized ones can be easily created, for example showing the lifecycle status of the components.
With the help of Special Reports, specific risk analysis/assessment reports (bubble charts, graphs, matrices, heat maps, etc.) can be created based on scoring attributes. Thus, in summary the reporting capabilities of SAMU are almost unlimited.

What is an enterprise architecture tool and who is it for?
An enterprise architecture tool is a platform designed to help organizations gain a clear, structured view of their entire IT landscape, including applications, systems, and business processes. Instead of working with fragmented data across multiple tools, teams can centralize everything in one place and understand how technology supports business goals.
Solutions like SAMU are built specifically for enterprises, CIOs, and IT leaders who need to make strategic decisions about their IT environment. Whether it’s optimizing legacy systems, planning digital transformation, or improving collaboration between business and IT, an enterprise architecture tool provides the visibility and control needed to move forward with confidence.
How does an enterprise architecture platform improve IT strategy and decision-making?
An enterprise architecture platform connects high-level business objectives with the underlying IT systems that support them. This makes it possible to see how changes in technology impact the organization as a whole, rather than evaluating systems in isolation.
With a well-implemented enterprise architecture platform, IT leaders can identify redundancies, reduce complexity, and prioritize investments based on real data. It becomes much easier to align IT strategy with business goals, manage risks, and ensure that every decision contributes to long-term value instead of short-term fixes.
What problems does enterprise architecture software solve for enterprises?
Enterprise architecture software addresses some of the most common challenges large organizations face: lack of transparency, duplicated systems, increasing IT costs, and difficulty managing change. In many companies, information about systems and processes is scattered, outdated, or incomplete.
By introducing a centralized enterprise architecture software solution, organizations can create a single source of truth for their IT landscape. This improves visibility, supports better governance, and enables faster, more informed decisions. It also helps reduce unnecessary complexity and ensures that technology investments are aligned with business priorities.
How does SAMU support IT landscape management and application portfolio management (APM)?
SAMU provides a comprehensive view of the IT landscape, allowing organizations to map, analyze, and continuously optimize their systems. Through advanced IT landscape management capabilities, users can understand how applications are connected, where dependencies exist, and which areas require attention.
In addition, SAMU supports application portfolio management (APM) by helping organizations evaluate the performance, cost, and business value of each application. This makes it easier to identify redundant or outdated systems, prioritize modernization efforts, and build a more efficient, future-ready IT environment.
Is SAMU suitable for large enterprises and CIO-level decision making?
Yes, SAMU is designed with enterprise-scale complexity in mind. It supports organizations that operate with large, distributed IT environments and need a reliable foundation for strategic decision-making at the highest level.
For CIOs and senior IT leaders, SAMU provides the insights required to balance innovation with stability. It enables better planning, clearer communication with stakeholders, and more effective governance across the entire IT landscape. This makes it a valuable tool not only for managing current systems, but also for guiding long-term digital transformation initiatives.
How is SAMU different from other enterprise architecture tools?
While many enterprise architecture tools focus primarily on documentation, SAMU is designed to actively support decision-making and continuous improvement. It goes beyond static diagrams and provides actionable insights that help organizations optimize their IT landscape in real time.
SAMU combines enterprise architecture, IT strategy, and application portfolio management into a single platform. This integrated approach reduces the need for multiple tools and ensures that all stakeholders work with consistent, up-to-date information. As a result, organizations can move faster, reduce complexity, and make more confident strategic decisions.
